Marine Waste from Coloane
2021
This photo selection is part of the Marine Waste Puppet Exhibition at Macao City Fringe Festival. We went to beach cleanups multiple times across 6 months. And I recorded the process with images and films. These photos showcase the marine waste we collected before it turned into puppets in the show. By analyzing the marine waste we found, we can know more about the history of the place. For example, we found some opium boxes.
Who is She? What is Macau?
2019-2020
In the summer of 2019, I returned to Macau from Beijing. I took some analog photos yet not finished my film.
After returning to Macau, I went on a solo trip and travelled to Brazil, the UK, and Germany. When I returned to Macau again, the outbreak of the epidemic started. I decided to shoot the analog roll again.
Using a double-exposure technique, the photos showed views of Macau before and after the COVID-19 outbreak. Overlapping the photos caused the visuals to be chaotic and distracting.
I sought recognition in these random and accidental images, but I kept having questions: who were those people? What was my hometown?

Rebuilding Homes in Nepal
2018
During my photojournalism internship with VIN, I worked primarily on the community project Rebuilding Family Homes in Jitpurphedi After the 2015 Earthquake. I visited 12 local Nepalese households in Jitpurphedi, on the outskirts of Kathmandu, documenting families who had rebuilt their homes with VIN’s support. My work focused on conducting interviews and capturing daily life through photography and video, alongside covering various events and activities organized by VIN.
